You were once in love; you believed you would spend the rest of your life with this person. You gave all you had, perhaps they did too, but now it's time for an ending, for without it there can be no new beginning for either of you. Yet, still you find your heart is linked to theirs, at least to the memory of good times, and intimacies shared.
For this very reason, I dislike love spells that bind two together. You simply do not know what you do not know, and when you do know it, either you or they may not feel the same way.
It is time to move on. First and foremost, always step one: do all you can in the mundane world before beginning spell work. You may be sabotaging your efforts if your actions, thoughts, and emotions are not in complete accordance.
So for a start ask yourself the following questions:
1. Do I allow myself to think fondly on times together? In these times do I allow myself to wish for things to be the way they used to be?
A wish is a form of prayer, a spell in and of itself. Are you wishing for something that is not healthy? Are you wishing for something that isn't meant for you? A wish made in self-pity is a curse to the sender.
2. Do I visit places I know I may run into them?
that's just desperate and uncomfortable for all involved. Find new places, new memories, and new friends. New life grows from the devastation of a forest fire; your heart will love again. It does get better.
3. Do you try to find ways to get back together?
Again, it's not meant for you. Think, greater things may lie just around the corner, and you will miss it if you never move beyond past relationships.
Having said all that, I'm going to have to trust you will seriously consider each question. I am also going to assume that you are ready for the next step; the spell.
Inscribe the person's name on the candle with a pin or athame.
Write in black the person's name on the bay leaf. Crush the leaf with mortar and pestle.
Dress candle. That means to rub oil onto candle. This is a banishing spell. You will rub only downward strokes. For a blessing you rub only upward strokes. Then roll candle in crushed bay leaf.
This spell should be done beginning on a full moon. As the moon wanes, so will your affinity for the other person.
Note: Do not use a candle in a jar. A votive candle works well. Burn for one hour each day at sunset until candle is consumed or until the moon is again full. NEVER blow out the candle, only snuff, as you are also snuffing out any lingering feelings between the two of you.
As you burn the candle each day, visualize the candle diminishing as your feelings for the other person diminish in accordance.
Each time upon lighting, say the following incantation:
I release you this day in each and every
way,
I banish you from my mind, and from my heart you stay,
I send you peace to begin again,
What's past is past, we've come to our end.
No more I'll grieve the loss of you,
My life's my own, I begin anew.
(Say part below 3x)
By the power of three times three,
As I will it, so mote it be.
