Ryddel: Why must you own it? Calling a spirit is relatively easy, but you need to respect them as independent beings, or believe you me it becomes a learning experience FAST. They can hang around you to distraction and be reasonable companions, but only if they are respected. But, if you want to own...

http://www.ibiblio.org/pfaf/cgi-bin/arr_html?Nardostachys+grandiflora This hints that it could be not the same. :-/ Now I'm confused. If you look at the the other post, Here you'll see the link that hints that they ARE possibly linked. Or maybe the first link, the Nardostachys grandiflora is the sp...

Here is a link that indicates that hedgewitch has point that ferula and Jatamansi may very well be the same plant. http://www.botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/s/sumbul98.html http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/taxon.pl?41083 http://www.herbal-magic-k.com/kings/Kings/1898/267.htm This latter is an...

Thank you, Judge. I suck at finding the right words on the fly. I have chronic aphasia. Ironic that I'm a writer, no? But I find them... eventually. Thanks again. "Those who fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it, Those who fail to learn history correctly, why they are just doomed."...

I'm a Mod... I'm not supposed to have faults or make wildly politically incorrect rants anymore. I must have missed the memo :P Oh blast it! I should have guessed I'd be ratted out by a fellow mod. :P That was not only tongue-in-cheek, but my excuse for, "I don't want to get into it right now&...

Heh. I've been poly. It imploded rather spectacularly. The man in the middle was scarred for life, doomed to live like a cardboard cutout of his former self, and two best friends are now still resentful and balking of each other even after all these years. I've seen it done well, but it requires ext...

I wonder about prision tattoo's, which are made with metallic inks...., t or (being a hair dresser I know this) box hair dyes, which are made up of metallic salts? I donno.... the theory is probably false, but its fun to think about. Heh, lol. Well, we know that it doesn't *really* effect MRI's exc...

Ok, I bought it in a small pack from an herbal distributor that doesn't exist anymore. :( The thing that gets me is that it was labeled as a "Celtic" herb, but I think it comes from the middle east! I'm not sure if Jatamansi is the same thing. It looks right, but I'll have to buy some, tes...

wow. well, perhaps. Or maybe it gave her a context under which she can talk to you about it.

Glad to hear you cleansed it. That's really where people get into trouble with the oujia board, in my not so humble opinion.

La Fiamma: Yes. Thanks. :D I forget the hard edges of these terms sometimes. Etherial Crow: Well, I don't think so. I know people in all these categories, and it seems to work for them. I can't speak for what happens after one dies, except in a very limited sense. (I see dead people, and I've gone t...

I suggest reading "Real Magic" by Issac Bonewitz. "Real Energy" promises to be very interesting, too... and very helpful; but I haven't read that yet. Issac is young when he wrote this, so it's a little... hyperbolic at times, but it is still a good primer on these things, and wi...

I think that spells that don't work just fizzle. The energies just cause a lot of etherial smoke. This is why you want to cleanse often, and so on.

As for karmic debt for fizzle spells.... I don't *think* so... but I'm not Ma'at's helpline so not sure.

I was going to vote for Fred Thompson. My god that man can speak! And I like him on the issues, too. Too bad he dropped out. I don't like anyone else, though.
