From left to right: Sweet Gum, Wild grape, and unknown..
With the sweet gum, the bark is easy to peel, but the wood inside is very moist and slippery. Before drying, the peeled wood is greenish-white.

Cool! What's nice is, wand-making comes naturally to me, but I restrict my wood use for obvious Wiccan reasons.

Just remember to always thank the earth or Goddess for the gift you've been given. Place a stone or a gift of water at the tree after you take from it.

I always do. (( Even if it tqkes a while to say 'the god and the goddess', I thank them for everything that they provide me with. I leave different kinds of offerings.

So inspiring! I went out today to get some materials for a wand and a broom and I've begun to make my own. :3
Of course I remembered to thank Mother Earth for gifting me my new tools.

I really like this broom. On occation I have made a broom on the fly, (Ooo! I made an unintentional pun!) Using whatever materials that were present. One of my favorite was the stalk of a yucca and branches of white sage for the broom part. It felt so special. I flew 7 people in for initiation on that broom. It was an epic day.
