Eagle Time

Post by Firebird »

Hi folks, I would like to share one of my favorite places this time of year, the Eagle nests on Ustream. Spring has begun it's pre-spring thing, and the birds are with eggs. The Eagles laid in mid Feb. It is absolutely fascinating watching these birds. Last couple years I was at the Decorah Iowa eagle cam, but this year it looks like they may have chose another nest.

So,... these nests are on Catalina Island California, the first link is to the Two Harbors Cam...

http://www.ustream.tv/two-harbors-cam

This next link is to a page that has all 5 cameras on the Island...

http://www.iws.org/interactive_nestchat_allUstream.html

and, here's the Decorah Eagle cam, they may still come to this nest, but even if they don't, it's a lovely shot of a farm in Iowa, and the small creek that runs by it.

Hope you all enjoy! Blessings, Firebird

Hey everyone!!! it's that time again smiley_dance

this eagle cam is amazing...as of today...2 eggs, can't wait for them to hatch :fairy:
mother natures magic. smileylove ..who would have thought an eagle with a razor sharp pointy beaks could gently roll the eggs in the nest without breaking them.
Just checked in on them...Feb 28 ...sitting in the snow ::coolglasses::

Hi everyone!
It's time to bring this thread back up!

the Decorah eagles on UStream

http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles

looks like the eagles are busy fixing up the nest,
tune in regularly and you may see her lay the eggs this time! I have missed it every year because I tune in too late,...course there is video, but live is where its at!
I had a little trouble with the tablet being able to get the picture, had to download something, don't let that detour you...
It is totally worth it

I need to make time to go to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. We get bald eagles nesting there. Over by Buckley AFB, we have ferruginous hawks. They have plenty of prey available. I've seen juveniles just sitting on the curb watching traffic. I really wish we had the variety of birds around that we used to. I miss hearing the meadowlarks.

Geez! Three million, six hundred thousand views, and very rapidly counting...think Mama Eagle ever gets the sneaking feeling she's being watched by somebody? lol

And do you think she ever wishes she had an iPhone or a book or something to read while waiting on the chicks to hatch...or am I just anthropomorphizing and projecting again?

Soo cute! There is definitely something calming about watching these animal cams. I used to like to watch ones from a bat sanctuary when I was a bit younger. Thanks for sharing; I will probably be peeking in every now and then :)
