End of an Era...rest with peace W.A.S.

Post by Firebird »

My heart breaks this day for my cousin who has made his way...
beyond the veil that keeps us here,
from this life to the next.

I am only a few months older than he...can't quite wrap my head around it just yet
RIP Wayne, I love you...N.

They run ahead of us, never quite beyond sight, saying "It's okay. I'll wait for you."

When I first moved to the "valley" we had family over to see the new place. This was 1970. Wayne and I were in the garage listening to music and dancing around. He was holding the radio and had dropped it...we were listening to this song...Whole Lotta Love...which was fairly new to us (a shortened version for the radio)...
But I am recounting this story because it is one of the best laughs Wayne and I have had over the years...if you listen to the song when the "minute counter" reaches 1:18....the song has a loooooooong drawn out note that declines on the musical scale. When you listen you will see what I mean. Anyway...he drops the radio right when that note plays, and we were convinced he had broke the radio!! We stood there looking at it while it went ....drurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...and he says oh crap I broke it. Then all of a sudden the music starts again, we looked at each other and started laughing, and continued dancing around.
This is one of my funniest memories of my cousin...damn it I miss you...
