As we Dance Under the Moon

Post by SaturnStar »

As we Dance Under the Moon she smiles upon us and our hearts fill with her light and love. Our feet beat out a rhythm on the breast of mother earth as plants and trees and birds and all manner of beasts gather on the edge of the circle to watch and sing and soothe one another.

My name is Gary. I live in California. I am as old as the hills and younger than the stars. It is my firm belief that I have always been pagan though I did not come fully into Wicca until after my first marriage ended in the late 90s. At this point in my life I am alone as far as relationships go. Money is an issue in my life for the first time in many years. In 2015 I was diagnosed with Cancer and was fortunate enough after having gone through radiation and chemo and spine surgery to be considered in remission.
My days are spent performing small candle and incense rituals in the morning more for giving thanks than anything else. I will be starting classes in a week to fill some of the days.
I create bowls and vases and plates through hand building with clay.
I paint with oils or have in the past. I have three canvasses that are still waiting for me to address them.
I love the outdoors, especially the beach, rivers and lakes.
My Wiccan path has been up and down. Being a solitary practitioner without access to other like minded individuals has made it cumbersome to know how to proceed at times.
Magic is real, that I know for a fact, for I have performed rituals and cast spells that have definitely worked. Unfortunately because my knowledge is limited and there has not been anyone I could look to for guidance some of the spells carried unseen consequences the results of which have cost me dearly. Still I believe.
I am a decent cook though I am not the greatest baker.
I have two amazing, intelligent, beautiful, creative, grounded, hardworking and loving daughters. They are my greatest treasure.

Well that is me though not completely.

Blessed Be to all
May the Moon guide you with her light
May the sun greet you with a smile
May the wind kiss you cheek as it passes
May Bodies of water always refresh you
May the Earth hold you firm upon her mantle

Salutations fellow Californian!
Love to play in the mud with you :fairy: ceramics is such a grounding art.
Sounds like you are living life to the fullest, huzzah to that.
Do you have a body of water close by? I'm just 17 miles from the beach but rarely find myself there.

Greetings Firebirdflys. Playing in and with the mud, as you call it, would be fun. I agree there is nothing that soothes me quite so much as working with clay. Though I have never dug clay straight from the earth I have met potters who have and seen their work. It is definitely harder to control and you have to know what you are doing. Maybe some day I will get a chance to try the process.

As far as living life to the fullest that would be a matter of perspective. Sometimes given the complexity of life it is a challenge to stay focused. I love your use of the word huzzah it beckons to a piece of my soul from long ago. A toast to life full of love, peace, happiness, prosperity within reason and the grace of the goddess. Huzzah

You can not live in the Bay Area and not be within a few miles of a body of water. They surround these ancient spiritual lands and run through the hills and valleys giving life to all that dwell upon and within. I would love to live closer to the actual beaches along the coast as I would be there often. As it is I live on the Eastern edge of the Bay and find contentment in the parks and lakes that saturate that area.
