they are right about cats but mine is independent , but... she likes her meal everyday at the same time or she will make sure to remind me if im late. also her box has to be really clean and she checks if its properly clean and if she does not like it she will let me know by leaving me gifts outside the box. i never tought she was going to be so much work or maybe i spoiled her . But if you dont make the same mistakes i made then you will be able to have a really good roomate

Bearded Dragons are great but they take a LOT of looking after and specialist care. You have to keep the temperature exactly right and it's hard.
Gerbils make great pets and so do Guinea Pigs. If you get a well-handled Guinea Pig that isn't scared of humans and will let you pick it up every so often they make incredible pets.
You want something you can spend time with and if you are dead set on getting a nocturnal pet, Gerbils are great. They do live in small groups though but two will keep each other company without getting depressed or feeling all alone.
They're easy to keep too. They live indoors, only need small amounts of water as they're a desert mammal, though a water bottle should always be kept full, fresh and available, don't need masses of food, though like the water, it should always be available and fresh.
Also, you don't have to buy a specialist cage for them, a medium to large sized fish tank will suffice, we have had about 7 gerbils (3 in one litter and 4 in another) and all have lived happily in the fish tank =] Obviously without the water and filter!! xD
If you need any more information, feel free to contact me =]
Hope I helped!

Aww that's so sweet!! I want a dog but I'm not allowed. And my dad's allergic to cats so I stick to Guinea Pigs and Gerbils (and fish xD Tropicals included!) but now mum's said we're not allowed any more =( Our last Guinea Pig died about 6/7months ago, possibly longer and we haven't got anymore =( Last little Gerbil is holding on and doing fine though =D
My ultimate pet would deffo be a snake but i'm deffo not allowed one *cry* why are parents so cruel?! I'll get one when i'm older =D
Make sure you keep us posted, stormer89, on how you're getting on and what you pick!!
